Speaking of recipes calling for lemon juice - just how much juice should I expect from each lemon?
Of course, this depends on size, but a large lemon will typically yield about 3 Tbsp of juice, a smaller one about 2 Tbsp.
Now, you're probably thinking that's great, but what do you do with just 3 Tbsp of juice?!
Grab an ice tray and make some lemon juice ice cubes. Perfect for dropping in lemonade or using in your next recipe that calls for some lemon juice.
Plus, did you know that lemon juice can be frozen for up to 3 months and even longer in a deep freezer!
What about all those left over lemon peels?
1. Freshen up your sink. Turn on your garbage disposal, run the water and toss those peels in. You're garbage disposal will be clean in an instant and your kitchen will smell amazing!
2. How about a little Microwave Magic. Place 4-5 lemon peels into a microwave safe bowl filled with 1 cup of water and heat it in the microwave for 5 minutes. When the times up, remove the bowl and wipe down the inside with a paper towel (or even better, one of our Swedish Dishcloths) and TA-DA...clean microwave!
